hey there!

*not pictured: my 4-year-old off-camera, making silly faces.

I’m Sarah, a designer and educator based in tiny, coastal Rhode Island. For over a decade, I’ve been making magic for kids of all ages as an in-house creative for the storied toymaker Hasbro.

Currently, I’m shaping (literally!) the future of one of the world’s most iconic arts & crafts brands: Play-Doh.

Selected Work

Like many in-house designers, my work requires me to become an expert in the brands I work on—diving deep into their history, positioning, and future. I collaborate with a wide range of partners on projects that span from traditional branding to marketing, product design, franchise development, and beyond—anything that supports the brand vision holistically and strategically.

Some of this work shapes future initiatives, evolving until they reach consumers, while other projects stay behind the scenes in our innovation pipeline. Projects are expected (presentation design, ideation, web design, digital content!) or the unexpected (ever designed artwork for baby doll eyeballs? Created stickers for a ride-on scooter? Styled “food” for a Play-Doh photoshoot?) I’ve done it!

Below is a sampling of work, with more detail upon request due to IP sensitivity.

Teaching + Student Work

Sometimes, you can find me teaching graphic design in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where I love bringing a relatable and authentic approach to teaching young designers.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Sarah made her way up to Rhode Island after a handful of years in Georgia and beautiful Baltimore, Maryland (MICA GD/MFA 2013.)

She’s also a mom (one human, one dog), wife to a specialty coffee roaster (very convenient!), and a friend.

Thanks for stopping by!
